Mary Evangeliste is an award winning social marketer and presenter. For over 15 years she has lectured and facilitated workshops in art history and in libraries. She has written and presented widely over the past five years on change management and non-profit marketing. She cofounded “Fearless Future: marketing and design for things that matter” with Jonathan Silberman because she believes in the effect that social marketing and design can have on the betterment of the world. She is known for motivating and enthusiastic lectures and workshops. Some of the local and national groups Mary has taught with include the State Department, Maryland School of Art and Design, Prince George’s Community College, University of Pittsburgh, Amigos and Lyrasis. She holds a B.A. in Art History from Allegheny College and an M.L.I.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Mary has held positions at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, The Smithsonian, The National Gallery of Art, American University Library, and the University of Arizona Libraries. This combined love of art, libraries and social justice necessitated a move toward learning about and developing marketing events and campaigns for libraries and non -profits. Mary has been honored with two national marketing awards: 3M Check-it-out Yourself Day and ACRL’s 2005 Best Practices in Marketing Academic and Research Libraries @your library® Award. Before Mary worked in museums and libraries she had her own dog walking business, was an art consultant and managed an alt-rock band.
